Bamboo Guest House - Hermanus

Wonderful, friendly, warm hospitality. Has all the facilities you could wish for, including free wifi , spotless accommodation, delicious breakfast, spacious rooms and fab bathrooms. Ready assistance and information on hand. Right across the road from the cliff walk. Felt like home from home. Have already booked our next stay there for the whale season. Very reasonable rates and great value for money. A little gem! With secure parking!

If I was forced to look for negatives, I might say that the one mattress in our room probably needs to be replaced.

The service was excellent, people were very very nice! They prepared a delicious breakfast and the rooms were very nice and clean! And very safe, I would definitely go back there!

It's quiet far away from Cape Town, you have to hire a car to move around without problems.

The gentleman running the guest house was very nice

No air conditioning in the bedroom . Balcony on a busy main road sea view obstructed by houses on the other side of the road a glimps of the sea only. Only 2 sun beds for 10 guests. Breakfast poor, plastic sliced bread,told to make your own toast. Nothing original. Breakfast room in a very small area kitchen there as well, tables very close together could not have a private conversation. A good hours walk to the beach and half hour walk into the town, only one Tuk Tuk for transport fully booked on the first night. Very expensive for what we had.

We loved everything about the Bamboo. Beautiful house, tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean.In addition we enjoyed great breakfasts and relaxing in the delightful garden. Sue & Jim were great hosts.Couldn't ask for more.

We enjoyed our weekend stay at the guesthouse ...lots of personal touches to our room that we haven't come accross at other guest houses we've been to..like the little first aid kit in bathroom..home away from home..

When booking we requested ocean and mountain views..lots of mountain views sadly no ocean view...perhaps the breakfast menu could be change...you can only have so much bacon and eggs

Sue and Jim were fantastic hosts and we didn't want for anything :-) the room was just perfect with big double aspect balconies and a great little pool verandah for an evening drink with them :-) thanks so much and we will be back one day :-) Sonia & Stephen x x

The environment. Sea on the one side and mountains on the other side. Close to town.

We could not fault anything about the Bamboo Guest House, Jim and Sue were lovely and so helpful. When we arrived the asked what our plans were when we said we did not know they booked a resturant for us and arranged for the local taxi to pick us up and drop us back. They also booked all our trips for us. The breakfast in the morning was made for you as you ordered it. You would of thought you were staying in a 5 Star hotel! Would stay there again and would recommend it to other travellers going to Hermanus.

Sue and Jimmy were fantastic and made us feel like we were at home, I would strongly recommend Bamboo Guest House for the weekend or even a long vacation.

We received a very warm welcome from our thoughtful hosts. They have tried to provide everything that you might need for a very comfortable stay.

Lacked a little privacy as our room opened to the garden - a frosted film on the lower part of the doors would improve this.

The fact that the place was beautifully decorated and finished to a very high standard, the guest house was immaculately clean and the hosts were very informative and helpful. The breakfasts were superb. We cannot praise this place highly enough!

Beautiful view, first class spec of rooms, great breakfast and very friendly management. The location for land based whale watching, we actually saw whales from our room, fab-ulous!!

Everything! Very tasteful decoration. Very zen. I like all the bamboo prints, on the wall, and even on the shower gel bottles. The living room and the patio by the pool are very comfortable. Staff Sue and Jim are extremely friendly and helpful. We were well looked after. Only 3 minutes drive from Hermanus town centre.

The Bamboo Guest House is modern and bright with excellent facilities. It is very well managed by the lovely couple Sue and Jimmy,who looked after us very well. Breakfast was a treat.

Very friendly & helpful hosts. New house, extremely clean, little garden & pool area, everything well looked after. Stylish decoration (bamboo is in the focus - even fluffy cotton-bamboo towels) - we liked it. Room with a good size, comfortable bed, little balcony with chairs & table. New bathroom, big shower, bathtub, all looked fresh and very very clean. Good breakfast, nice fresh fruit salad. The boardwalk in walking distance. Absolutely recommendable.

The only thing I didn't like was the little fish pond at the entrance - in my opinion much too small for the bigger fish
